# Activating / Deactivating
### Requirement
ReMark X does not require an internet connection for licensing, making it fully compatible with air-gapped workstations.

### Activation
To activate ReMark X, open the application and proceed to the **License** option located under the **File** menu, which will prompt the licensing window to appear.
To activate your license, enter the license key provided during the purchase and input the email address used for the transaction. Then, simply click on the **Activate** button to complete the process.
After verification, ReMark X will be successfully licensed, and a confirmation message will be provided. Click **OK** to close ReMark X. You can reopen it to access the **Pro** features.
After reopening ReMark X, you can verify that it is running in **Pro** mode by checking the information displayed in the bottom right of the app.

When activating on macOS, you might be prompted to grant permission for osascript to make changes. This is necessary to install the license file in '/Library/Application Support' for all users.

### Deactivation
To deactivate ReMark X, open the application and proceed to the **License** option located under the **File** menu, which will prompt the licensing window to appear.
To deactivate your license click the D**eactivate** button.
After deactivation, ReMark X will be successfully unlicensed, and a confirmation message will be provided. Click **OK** to close ReMark X. You can reopen it to revert to the lite features.
After reopening ReMark X, you can verify that it is running in **Lite** mode mode by checking the information displayed in the bottom right of the app.
