Install ReMark X

Download

Download the latest version of ReMark X from the download page and launch the package to begin the installation process.

Note that the download is for the LITE version. An activation key will be needed to access the PRO features.

Previous Versions

Before updating to a newer version of ReMark X, please ensure you delete the following folders:

  1. ReMark X app located at /Applications

  2. ReMark X folder located at /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/Fusion/Scripts/Utility/ReMarkX.

License Agreement

Before proceeding with the installation, please take a moment to review our End User License Agreement (EULA). The EULA contains important terms and conditions governing the use of ReMark X software.

Installation

Running the Installer Package on macOS

When you open the installer package (.pkg) on macOS, you might receive a warning that the file is from an unidentified developer. This is a common security feature on macOS to prevent the execution of potentially harmful software.

To bypass this warning and run the installer, follow these steps:

  1. Locate the Installer Package: Find the .pkg file you want to open.

  2. Open with Security Override:

    • Right-click (or Control-click) on the .pkg file while holding the Command key.

    • Select Open from the context menu.

    • A dialog will appear with a warning message.

    • Click the Open button in the dialog to confirm you want to open the file.

By following these steps, you will be able to run the installer package despite the warning about the unidentified developer.

Introduction

Begin by launching the installer. You will be greeted with an introduction screen that provides an overview of the installation process. Click "Continue" to proceed.

License

Follow the on-screen instructions and accept the licensing agreement. Please ensure you read and agree to the license before continuing.

Destination Select

Next, you will be prompted to select the destination where you want to install the app. Choose the appropriate location on your Mac and click "Continue."

Installation Type

In this step, you can customize the installation if needed. Review the options and click "Install" to proceed with the default settings, or "Customize" to modify the installation options.

Installation

The installer will now copy the necessary files to your Mac. This process may take a few minutes. Follow any on-screen prompts and wait for the installation to complete. During this step, the following files will be copied:

  • ReMark X app: Installed in the /Applications directory for easy access.

  • ReMark X script (.py file): Placed in /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/Fusion/Scripts/Utility/ReMarkX to enable direct launching from within the DaVinci Resolve application.

Summary

Once the installation is finished, you will see a summary screen confirming the successful installation of the app. Click "Close" to exit the installer.

Follow these instructions to install the app on your Mac.

After the installation is complete, macOS will display a window asking whether you want to keep the installer package or move it to the bin. If you choose "Keep," the installer will remain in your Downloads folder, or can be moved for archiving. If you select "Move to Bin," the installer will be moved to the trash bin.


Install Python

DaVinci Resolve requires Python to be installed in order to run third-party applications. Follow these steps to install or update Python:

Check Python Installation:

Open a terminal window, type python3 --version and press Enter.

If Python is installed, the version number will be displayed. Ensure it is version 3.8 or higher.

Download

Visit the official Python website at https://www.python.org/downloads/macos/ and download the latest version. For optimal compatibility, we recommend downloading 64-bit universal2 installer.

After downloading the installer, run the file to initiate the installation process.

On the next screen, you will have the option to read more about Python and its features. This section provides detailed documentation and additional information about the software. Click "Continue" to move on to the next step.

Next, you will encounter the Python Software Foundation License Agreement. Take a moment to review the terms of the agreement. Click "Continue" to proceed with the installation after you have agreed to the terms.

Next, you will be prompted to select the destination where you want to install the app. Choose the appropriate location on your Mac and click "Continue."

Installation Type
